Mansions and Museums
Join us, as we travel together to experience the historic heart of Grays Harbor. We will look back in time, to the earlier days of Aberdeen and Hoquiam by visiting some of the historical landmarks that still grace our community. The day begins with a mansion in the morning, as we savor scones with tea (or coffee) at the Aberdeen Mansion and enjoy the details of the architecture and landscaping. Next, we are off to the Armory Building which houses the Aberdeen Museum of History, Grays Harbor Genealogical Society, and other community organizations for a look at the rich history behind the Armory and the community. At our final destination, John Larson, local historian and curator, of The Polson Museum will guide us through the 26 room mansion. There’s also the Railroad Camp where you can still get a glimpse of what historic logging around the area once was like.
Admissions to all three historic sites, morning tea & scones, lunch, and transportation from our Main Campus and Riverview Education Center in Raymond for $63.46. Riverview pick up: 8:15am - Main Campus: 9:00 am. Return to Main Campus: 3 pm and Riverview: 4 pm. 8:15 AM-4PM, Saturday 2/07, Item# 9573 Cost: $63.46

From there we will explore an entire room dedicated to Tornow memorabilia, including artifacts unearthed at the memorial site at Mary M. Knight School and the Matlock Museum. There will be other locations of historical significance pointed out along the way back to Montesano for lunch at the Beehive restaurant.
