How to Apply

Ready to Explore the World? Follow these steps to easily completing the paperwork process.

STEP 1 : Meet with your campus advisor, Cal Erwin-Svoboda , in the HUB RM 171 to obtain your program packet.

STEP 2 : Begin filling out Scholarships

STEP 3 : Gather all application materials

a. WCCCSA application form (Word document)

b. One-page personal essay

- Please describe the reasons why you want to study abroad, what you hope to accomplish on your journey, and how you hope to incorporate this experience into your future academic or career plans.

c. Two letters of recommendation; one must be from a faculty member

d. Most recent unofficial transcripts

STEP 4 : Bring all application materials to Cal Erwin-Svoboda in the HUB RM 171.

STEP 5 : If your WCCCSA application is approved by Grays Harbor College, your advisor will give you the on-site coordinator application and housing form and any other information you may need.

STEP 6 : Fill out and send the on-site coordinator application and housing form and your non-refundable deposit to the address provided.

STEP 7 : Pay your program fees by the payment deadline.

STEP 8 : Get ready to go! Make your travel arrangements and attend your pre-departure orientation.

Requirements

In order to participate in Grays Harbor College's study abroad programs:

•  You need to have completed at least one quarter at HCC.

•  You must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or better .

•  You must have a valid passport to travel outside of the U.S.

Additional Recommendations:

•  We ask students to disclose any need for accommodation (physical, psychological, and/or academic).

•  Students should be 18 years and older. (Please see the study abroad advisor if you are younger.)

Academic Expectations: Study abroad means just that - study while living abroad. While Highline wants you to take advantage of your international experience and have fun, please keep in mind that the programs are academic! All students are required to take 15 credits during their study abroad program. We expect you to attend classes, do homework and take tests just as if you were on campus. All grades are reported to the registrar and calculated into your overall GPA, whether they count toward graduation or not.
