Scholarship Application Process

 APPLICATION DEADLINE:  JULY 9, 2014

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - You must read and follow the instructions below in order to complete a scholarship application!

 

Applications MUST be completed by the applicant. Under no circumstances can parents, teachers or counselors complete a scholarship application for a student. By submitting this online scholarship application, you are certifying that all information you have provided is true and complete to the best of your knowledge.  You are also authorizing the release of information on this application and other necessary financial and academic information to the E. K. & Lillian F. Bishop Scholarship Program and selection committee.

 

The Scholarship application process is available: Thursday, May 1st – Wednesday, July 9th for the 2014-2015 academic school year. Applicants will be considered for either the Bishop undergraduate or graduate scholarship for which they are eligible, assuming all required materials are included. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time during the 2014-2015 school year to receive their scholarships.

 

Selection of Recipients
A selection committee will judge applications on the basis of established guidelines, noted as “Eligibility Requirements,” without discrimination due to race, creed, sex or national origin. Information concerning financial need, prior academic performance and demonstrated ability, industry and the promise of useful citizenship will be taken into consideration, as will the number of qualified applicants and the availability of funds. The selection committee may award scholarships to individuals for up to two years of undergraduate study and for up to two years of graduate study, dependent on the applicant’s continued ability to qualify according to the “Eligibility Requirements,” the number of worthy applicants and the availability of funds.

Please note that students will be disqualified from being awarded a scholarship if they misrepresent themselves in any way. Each applicant will be informed of the selection committee’s decision by early August. Applications will be retained by the selection committee. No information will be given over the phone prior to the letters being mailed.

 

How do I apply?

Please save often, the pages will time-out (refresh) after a fairly short amount of time, causing you to lose your unsaved work.  Save your application often to avoid losing your information.

Applications are due Wednesday, July 9, 2014 no later than 11:59 pm Pacific Time, no exceptions! All of your information must be uploaded or imputed onto the scholarship application program, except for your ‘Official Transcripts’ which you mail directly to Grays Harbor College, c/o Eric Potts, 1620 Edward P. Smith Drive, Aberdeen WA 98520. Please refer to the previous page for further information on eligibility and application requirements.

  

Remember!

The on-line E. K. & Lillian F. Bishop Scholarship application program is in conjunction with the Grays Harbor College scholarship program. Please disregard anywhere on the application where it mentions GHC. These items cannot be adjusted. For example, where it says, “Please enter your GHC student ID,” instead please enter your own college ID or cell phone number.
