The first step for obtaining financial aid is to complete a Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  This can be completed for free online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, or you can pick up a paper application at the Financial Aid Office.  Completing this application will determine your eligibility for federal grants and low interest student loans. Apply early!
