The mission of the Equity & Diversity Resource Center is to promote awareness, respect and equitable treatment of the diverse individuals and groups that exist within our campus and surrounding communities.

 

EDRC Events

*      Final EDRC Discussion on the year: Fat Discrimination: The EDRC has been hosting a successful monthly series of student-led discussions. This month’s topic is about the discrimination overweight individuals face on a daily basis.

Tuesday May 22nd, 11:00–12:00 and 12:00–1:00 in the Student Activities wing of the HUB.
Please attend one or both of the two sessions.

*      Multicultural Club Meetings - New for this year is the Multicultural Club. Students are planning a multicultural food festival, diversity presentations/discussions, and a multicultural performance with a variety of cultural dancing. Meetings are Every Other Thursday @ 2:00 p.m. in the EDRC Foyer (200 building).

*      Students of Color Conference: Every year students of color from around the state gather in Yakima for the annual Students of Color Conference. It is a great educational and fun opportunity to meet students from around the state and attend workshops on topic that aren’t always covered in class. Be sure to apply to take part in next year's conference. Below are pictures from last year’s conference.

*      Power of One Leadership Conference: 11 GHC students travelled down to Corvallis, OR during spring break to attend the annual Power of One conference. If you missed out this year, be sure to look for applications to be available in the fall for next year.
