Completing the FAFSA:  How We Can Help You

The first step to see if you are eligible to obtain financial aid is to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The College understands this can be a complex process so we have a FAFSA Facilitator to help you complete this step. The FAFSA should be submitted every year, even if you think you don't qualify. There are many factors that may affect a person’s financial aid award. For example, a student who does not qualify one year may become eligible during the next year when a brother or sister enrolls in college. The loss of a job could change a student’s financial circumstance which could change their eligibility for student aid.

Our FAFSA Facilitator offers FAFSA workshops twice a month and office drop-in hours three days a week.

We look forward to working with you!

To complete the FAFSA, have the following information available.

Your Social Security Number.

Your parent’s Social Security Numbers, birthdates, and date of marriage/divorce/or separation (if you are under the age of 24 and not documented as an independent student).

Your Alien Registration Number if you are not a U.S. citizen.

Your prior-year federal tax information or tax returns (including IRS W-2 information0 for yourself (and spouse if you are married) and for your parents if you are providing your parent’s information.

Records of untaxed income, such as Social Security benefits, welfare benefits (e.g., TANF), and veterans benefits.
