John Spellman Library and Media Center

The John Spellman Library exists to meet the learning, teaching, and research needs of GHC's students, faculty, and staff, and to enhance the cultural and intellectual environments of the Twin Harbors.

Resources include:

• A Collection of over 55,000 items including books, periodicals, video tapes, CD's, DVD's, computer software, and web-accessible sites
• On-line databases that index journals, newspapers other electronic information.
• Video recording room for practicing speeches and interviews.
• Facilities for viewing AV programs in VHS, DVD, etc.
• Desktop computers, and laptops, for use in the library.
• Media production lab, for producing posters, video programs, editing images, etc.
• Photocopier, including color copies.
• Flat bed scanner with 11x17 inch capacity.
• Hole-Punch, Staplers, etc.
• Wireless Internet connection.

Services include:

• InterLibrary Loan (ILL) of materials to support our local collection.
• Rental of film, video, etc. for faculty to use in their classroom.
• Setup of AV and sound reinforcement equipment for classroom presentations and meetings.
• Regularly Scheduled Art Shows.
• AV equipment loan.
• Video editing, photo editing, etc.
• Video/audio duplication.
• High speed audio cassette tape duplication.
• Laminating.
• Research Assistance.

Media Equipment includes:

• Audiocassette recorder-players.
• Cable TV reception.
• TV Monitors.
• VCR's and DVD players
• Digital cameras and tripods.
• Microphones.
• Projection Screens.
• Opaque projectors.
• Movie projectors.
• Slide projectors.
• Audio/Video cables.
• Overhead projectors.
