Facilities
John M. Smith Aquaculture Facility The John M. Smith Aquaculture facility is a salmonid and cyprinid culture facility located on the Gray Harbor College campus. The aquaculture facility is fed by Alder Creek and the Lake Swano reservoir and supports an annual run of coho and chum salmon.
The Don Samuelson Model Watershed is an ~100 acre section of the Alder Creek watershed located on the Grays Harbor College campus. The Model Watershed is the site of a number of watershed/fisheries restoration projects and is widely used for laboratory investigations and public outreach.
GIS Laboratory The GIS laboratory is located in the 700 building of the Grays Harbor College campus. Students have access to a wide range of GIS hardware/software, plotters, image processing software, digitizing equipment and GPS units. The GIS facility is also home to the Chehalis Basin GIS Clearinghouse. This facility is operated through a partnership with the Washington Department of Ecology.
Costal Resources Learning Center (CRLC) The CRLC was founded to provide a model for the sustainable use of coastal natural resources. Through funding from the John and Joyce Smith Endowment and a number of external grants, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of community outreach/education, research, restoration and technological initiatives designed to support sustainable development in coastal communities. |

Students and faculty in the Natural Resources Program at Grays Harbor College have access to a variety of research/teaching facilities that supplement in-class learning and provide diverse opportunities for student research. |
