Research Interests: My research interests are broadly related to the assessment and restoration aquatic ecosystem health. In particular, my current projects are related to long-term monitoring of water quality in the Chehalis River Basin; restoration of salmonid habitat in Alder Creek in western Washington State; long-term monitoring of water quality in the Cojimies estuary in northern Ecuador; and assessing the impact of endocrine disrupting chemicals on aquatic ecosystem health.

Research Interests: My research interests are related to mapping, monitoring, and assessment of land use land cover change. I am also interested in studying the drivers and effects of land use land cover change for the environment. I apply a number of spatial data analysis methods and image processing techniques to assess the spatial pattern of environmental phenomena. My current research sites include the Chehalis river basin in the Pacific Northwest and the Western Ghats in India.

Current Projects: My focus is on providing environmental educational programs throughout the Grays Harbor College service district (Grays Harbor and Pacific counties). I work with students, teachers and community volunteers to implement classroom and field-based activities that highlight the relationship between healthy communities and a healthy environment. Recent programs I have collaborated to implement have been the Alder Creek Day Camp, the Summer Watershed Leadership Program and the E3 Coastal Region Environmental Education Summit. |
