This course is designed for the beginning computer enthusiast.
Students will learn the basics in a fun and not overly technical atmosphere.
No proper knowledge will be assumed, so the very beginning student will be able
to keep up and not feel overwhelmed. This is a student-centered, hands-on course
that covers a variety of topics from basic terminology to using Word, surfing
the Web, eBay, social networking, and troubleshooting.

CS 086 Using Microsoft Excel Jan 24 -Mar 15
This beginner's course will teach you the features of Microsoft Excel including entering and editing formulas, formatting spreadsheets, creating charts and graphs for your data, and understanding functions that Excel can calculate for you. Students will be able to design workbooks for their own personal finances, or customize them for their business needs.

CS 121 Childbirth Preparation
The Childbirth Education Course is a 6-week series designed
for expectant women and their labor support persons (labor support persons are
encouraged but not required). Classes are taught by certified childbirth educators.
Participants gain knowledge and tools to help them throughout pregnancy, childbirth,
and in to parenthood. Course content includes comfort in labor, fetal development,
healthy lifestyles, labor process, labor support, contraception, infant care
and parenting. The optimal time to begin the series is during the 8th month
of pregnancy. All classes run from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.

CS 011 Digital Camera Basics Jan 28 - One day workshop
This class will feature tips and instruction to improve your skills using a digital camera, whether you are very new or an experienced user. Some of the topics to be covered are resolution, digital exposure, white balance, camera functions, image capture, processing printing, archiving, and storage. Bring your own camera and instruction manual if possible.

CS 202 Photography Workshop Series Jan 4 - Feb 29
The first 3 weeks of the workshop go over the basics of
photography and camera handling. Shutter speed, Aperture, ISO, Color Space,
composition, etc. Starting the first week a topic will be giving and gone over
in class. During the week students will shoot pictures with that topic as an
assignment. Their shots will be reviewed the next class session and another
topic will be given. The topics discussed vary from quarter to quarter allowing
a person to expand their skills throughout the year. Expect to learn your cameras
different functions, and practice their uses in making personal statements in
photography.

CS 222 Photoshop Series Jan 5 - Mar 1
Photoshop is the standard tool for editing digital photos.
This class will start with Bridge, a program that comes with Photoshop as an
organizer. Bridge also allows for some editing. The second week we will explore
the RAW workspace. Even if you don't shoot in RAW it's possible to use the RAW
workspace for your initial workflow. Today, many photographers do 90% of their
editing by combing Bridge and the RAW Workspace. Then we will explore the different
options in Photoshop itself: cut and paste, combining images, dodging and burning,
creating different looks, and etc. A lot of the ideas for the classes are student
driven. Photos will be provided for practice along with work sheets. At the
end of the course you should have a basic knowledge of Photoshop and a good
workflow.

Geared to the beginning and returning student, this class focus on basic yoga postures and techniques. Breath work and yoga philosophy will be introduced. You will learn the fundamentals of movement in a safe and supportive environment that emphasizes good alignment.
