President
Janet Parker |
I have been employed at GHC College for 13 years. This is my second opportunity to serve as President of the SDTC Board.
I received my degree at Skagit Valley College in Parks Operation and Maintenance.
GHC is a great place to work! We have a very supportive, diverse group of classified staff, where there's never a dull moment!
I have kindled some awesome friendships here at GHC. And together, we have enjoyed many state conferences with priceless training opportunities.
Without the SDTC, these opportunities probably wouldn't have taken place. I am very thankful for the memories and look forward to many more~

Vice President

I have been working as the Assistant Carpentry Instructor for GHC since Oct. 2007.
I graduated from the Carpentry program in 2000 and went right to work as a Contractor for a year. I then
worked for 7 years at Westport Shipyard as a finish carpenter and then as a joinery designer before coming
to work here. I have also work for Habitat for Humanity of GH as their project manager. Besides carpentry
I am an assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout troop 100 out of Hoquiam. I am a dedicated father of 3 great
kids who take up most of my spare time. My wife and I are both native Harborites and met here at GHC. My
hobbies include hunting, fishing, hiking, gardening, and of course woodworking.

Secretary
Jeannette Green |
I have worked at Grays Harbor College since 2006. Prior to that, I worked at the Office
of Superintendent of Public Instruction (K-12) in Olympia so it was quite fitting to move into higher education.
I enjoy my time serving on this committee, as it supports employees who want to better themselves, work environment,
and community. I am a current student at The Evergreen State College working towards my BA degree of Liberal Arts.
I have an amazing husband and two children.

Treasurer
Rose Pendergast |
I've worked at GHC in Institutional Research since November 2010. I
received my BFA in Theatre Arts from Drake University ("a many years ago") and since then my
career path has meandered hither and thither. Along the way I picked up skills for data crunching
and was lucky enough to be hired here at GHC. In my free time my interests include (but are not
limited to and not always in this order) gardening, bicycling, birding, and opera. I live with my
fly fishing husband and three (way too many) cats.

Communications Coordinator
Sarah Alvarez |
I am a proud graduate of GHC and I obtained my BA in communication studies from
Randolph-Macon Woman's College. I've been working at Grays Harbor College for five years, two as an
assistant women's basketball coach and the past three years in media services. I feel blessed to have
such amazing and supportive coworkers, and I look forward to contributing to the campus community through
the SDTC. Outside of work, I am an avid Seattle Storm fan, a guitar-pickin' fool and a total tech geek.
Life is good!

Past-President
Nellie Miller |
Representing staff as SDTC President this year is a great honor! I’ve worked at GHC for
over six years in the Business Office, mostly in the Accounts Payable/Travel function, and also doing accounting
for GHC Foundation. I earned my BBA/Human Resource Management from AIU Online in 2007, which propelled me into
a part-time instructor position teaching Payroll Accounting. Married with 2 children, I enjoy gardening and
writing, and driving my hotrod.”

I have worked for Grays Harbor College for over 8 years. I have over 35 years professional
experience in the Human Resource field. I am married with three grown children who are on their
own paths for career and fulfillment. I Love working at the college primarily because of the great
people we have here. I enjoy in my off time playing bridge, reading and being with my wife, kids
and friends in that order.
