What is a Credit? ü A credit is a measure of the quantity of time in a class. Generally, one credit refers to one hour of class time per week though it varies with the type of course. ü Typically, you should plan on spending two hours for homework for every credit you take. ü Tuition is charged by the credit. What is full-time? ü Students who wish to be considered full-time must take at least 12 credits per quarter. ü Once at college level, if you wish to complete a degree in two years, you must take 16-19 credits that apply to your program per quarter. ü Many students take longer to complete a degree because they choose to take fewer credits each quarter or because they take some review courses to build their skills prior to starting college level coursework. How do I add classes after I register? ü You may adjust your schedule by submitting an "Add/Drop Form" to Admissions and Records. ü Once classes begin, adding courses requires an instructor signature. ü Classes cannot be added after the 10th day of the quarter. How do I drop classes after I register? ü "Add/Drop Forms" can be obtained and submitted to Admissions and Records. ü The form must be signed by the instructor after the 10th day of class. ü A student may withdraw from a course anytime up to "W" day (during the 7th week of the quarter) and receive a "W" grade. Important: If you don't drop a class, even if you never attend, you are responsible for paying for the class and will receive a "V" grade, which is calculated as an "F" into your GPA.
