The conference consists of a series of 30-50 minute workshops beginning every half hour between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and are open to all students. The Student Services Division & ASGHC is bringing Dr. Derek Greenfield to campus on January 26th . Dr. Greenfield is a widely respected educator, speaker & author. He will be joining us for the day to provide a variety of “workshops”. In addition to a noon talk with students and an afternoon talk on diversity, he will do a workshop first thing that morning in room 2255 for employees. His topic is “Success and Empowerment”. Dr. Greenfield’s energetic style, innovative ideas and sense of humor will inspire and move you.
Dr. Greenfield is deeply committed to social justice efforts here and around the globe. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Sociology from Northwestern University, a Doctor of Education from the University of Technology in South Africa & is currently conducting research towards a PhD in Cultural Studies at the University of Washington. He is currently on the Faculty at Alcorn State University in Mississippi.

Choker Club Crab Feed

Grays Harbor College’s annual Choker Club Crab Feed takes place on Friday, (January 27), at the HUB on the main campus in Aberdeen, beginning at 6 p.m. Unlimited quantities of fresh crab will be the featured dinner item, with spaghetti for non-crab eaters.
A fund-raiser for College athletic activities, tickets for this event are on sale now by calling the College’s Student Services Office at (360) 538-4066. Choker Club members and guests will pay $22 per person, children 12 and younger $10; price at the HUB door will be $25. Reservations are required, since seating is limited to 150.
