Rally at the State Capital

| Description: |
Grays Harbor College students will join hundreds of fellow
students from around the state at the 2012 Community College Student Legislative
Rally in Olympia on Wednesday, February 1. Students will gather at the
Capitol to express their opinions to local legislators and the governor on
topics including tuition, textbooks, and cuts to higher education funding. The
program from 12 – 1 pm in the Rotunda will feature guest speakers and elected officials.
Last year, 18 community colleges were represented, and 24 Grays Harbor
students were among the nearly 500 who attended.

Wendy Hinand from Brandman University is hosting a “Lunch N Learn” on February 2nd at 12:00 in 1512. At the “Lunch N Learn,” advisors, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to learn about the transfer options that GHC students have for Brandman’s Lacey and on line campuses as well as ways GHC can collaborate with Brandman for a smooth transfer process for students. There will be 3 rounds of trivia per session. Each round will be a different category, and there will be 15 questions with each category. You can start a team, or play individually. If starting a team, sign-up in student activities, OR sign-up on the day of the event. The event starts at 11 PM and runs until 12 PM. And the second session will be from 12 PM to 1 PM.
