The Activities Board is sponsoring an event on Tuesday, January 17 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to promote community service and volunteerism. There will be a presentations about the history of the day at 10 AM and again at 1 PM in the Fireside Room. These presentations will include speakers from local non-profit organizations that are involved in volunteer work. Students and employees are invited to speak about personal experiences with volunteer work or the observance of MLK Day.

Some of these community organizations will also be spending the day in the Fireside room. We would like to extend an invitation to the entire campus to stop by the Fireside room on Tuesday, January 17 and meet representatives from local nonprofit organizations and learn about the services they provide to our community.
