Diversity @ GHC: Fact or Fiction
A student led discussion about acceptance of diversity at Grays Harbor College.
Two separate sessions:

In the Student Activities Wing in the HUB
The discussion will use a broad definition of diversity that refers to social inclusiveness. This definition extends beyond ethnic differences and also includes, but is not limited to, differences of socioeconomic status, personal beliefs and values, gender, physical appearance and abilities, religion, political views, age, sexual orientation, and language.
We will also discuss some results of the Diversity Survey that is currently online. If you havent yet completed the survey, please do so here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GHCDiversitySurvey

A training for students, staff, and faculty on how to create a welcoming environment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, and Questioning students.
After completing the training that focuses on basic LGBTQ concepts and theories, strategies on how to create an inclusive environment for LGBTQ individuals, and developing skills to confront homophobia, heterosexism, biphobia and transphobia, each participant will be offered a Safe Space emblem that represents a safe environment that is supportive and affirming of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning persons.
Please RSVP to Brian Shook, bshook@ghc.edu, if you would like to attend so that we can prepare a Safe Space manual for you.

Vet's club is hosting a Veteran's Fair in honor of Veterans day on 11/10/11 from 10am-2pm. Barbecue will be in Mallik commons, PTSD roundtable discussion in the fireside room, musical performers in the HUB, and activities in the HUB and Mallik commons. All students and faculty are encouraged to come have fun!

The ASGHC invites you to take a stand and make your voice heard. On November 16th from 10 AM to 2 PM skip your classes and come join us in the HUB. Presenatations and discussions throughout the day will help educate you and your peers on the state budget cuts, what they mean to you, and what you can do to help fight it!
No question is off limits. No holds barred. Faculty, administrators, and community experts will be on hand all day to answer your questions.
And don't forget Gary's Challenge at noon! Learn why it is important to hold your political representatives accountable for what they claim!
