Expand your options during uncertain times, apply for financial aid to get education or training at GHC

Aberdeen, WA - With the ongoing economic uncertainty caused by COVID-19, Grays Harbor College continues to provide community members an opportunity to expand their education or training close to home.  The crucial first step to starting college or a career training program at GHC, is to apply for financial aid.

To help interested students take that first step, GHC is hosting an online Financial Aid Night on November 24th at 4:00 p.m. For more information on the online Financial Aid Night and required documentation, visit http://bit.ly/ghcfinaidhelp.

This free event will provide one-on-one assistance with GHC staff, to help interested students complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid).  Assistance will also be available for Spanish speakers.

“We will help you navigate and understand the financial aid process,” says Marcy Alstrom, GHC Recruitment and Admissions Manager.  Alstrom encourages all interested students to apply for financial aid.  “Don’t assume you won’t qualify for aid, the only way to know for sure is to apply.”  With the new Washington College Grant (WCG) program, more students qualify for financial aid than ever before.

For the 2021-22 school year, students should apply for financial aid, as soon as possible.  Some types of aid are first-come, first-served. Interested students that are not able to attend the online event, can still apply by visiting ghc.edu/financialaid.
