Transfer Degrees

For an affordable start towards your bachelor’s degree, start at Grays Harbor College and transfer to a four-year college or university. Here are the transfer degrees offered at GHC:

  • Associate in Arts – Direct Transfer Agreement (DTA): The AA DTA was designed so you can transfer as a junior to all the public and most of the private four-year colleges and universities in Washington State. This is a great option if you plan to major in the arts, humanities, or social sciences.
  • Associate in Arts – Native Pathways – Direct Transfer to Evergreen: Tailored for residents of tribal communities in Western Washington, this degree leads directly into The Evergreen State College’s Native Pathways BA program, with most GHC courses available online.
  • Associate in Biology – Direct Transfer: Designed for students with a passion for biology and science, this degree is your gateway to upper-division bachelor’s degrees in biology.
  • Associate in Business – Direct Transfer: If you’re considering a business degree, this program allows you to transfer as a junior to a four-year college or university.
  • Associate in Construction Management – Direct Transfer: Ideal for those preparing for majors in Construction Management, this program aligns with accredited majors at Central Washington University, Washington State University, and the University of Washington.
  • Associate in Music – Direct Transfer: Tailored for music enthusiasts, this program is a great fit for those intending to major in music at a four-year college or university.
  • Associate in Nursing – Direct Transfer: This dual-purpose degree qualifies graduates for the registered nursing licensure exam and opens doors to completing a Bachelor of Science, Nursing at any accepting university in Washington State.
  • Associate in Pre-Nursing – Direct Transfer : This program was designed for students hoping to transfer as juniors into an upper division Bachelor of Science, Nursing program.
  • Associate in Science – Direct Transfer (Track 1): The Associate in Science Track 1 prepares students to study in specific majors, including Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences/Resource Sciences, Chemistry, Geology, and Earth Science.
  • Associate in Science – Direct Transfer (Track 2):The Associate in Science Track 2 prepares students to study in specific majors, including Biological and Chemical Engineering, General Engineering, Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical, Industrial, and Material Science Engineering, and Physics.

At GHC, we’re all about bridging the gap between education and the real world—and we are excited to offer Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees. These programs were designed for practical, in-demand fields where job requirements have advanced beyond the associate degree level. GHC offers BAS degrees in:

  • Organizational Management: The Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Management (BAS-OM) program creates a pathway for students with AAS, AAS-T, or AT degrees to advance their educations, combining technical expertise with upper-division coursework in organizational management. This degree prepares graduates with practical management skills.
  • Teacher Education: The Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education (BAST) program is designed for students with an AAS in Early Childhood Education or for students with a bachelor’s or master’s degree seeking K-8 certification with an English Language Endorsement. This program prepares graduates for professional teaching careers or advanced graduate studies. Prerequisites are required and new cohorts begin each Fall.
  • Forest Resource Management: The Bachelor of Applied Science in Forest Resources Management (BAS-FRM) program is tailored to students with an AAS or AAS-T in Natural Resources, allowing them to build on their technical foundation with advanced coursework in forest resource management. This hands-on degree prepares graduates for careers in forestry and natural resources. Students can start this program in the Fall, Winter, or Spring quarters.

Whether you have been out of high school for years and would like to earn your GED, or have recently decided to finish getting your high school diploma, GHC offers multiple paths for success.

  • High School+ – Earn a High School Diploma: If you have high school credits, work experience, military experience, certifications or other life experience, but no high school diploma or equivalent, the High School+ program could be for you! Foreign education and experience can be considered with proper documentation.
  • High School Completion: This program is for students who would like to complete high school by taking pre-college or college-level classes to meet any Washington State high school graduation requirements that are not completed.
  • GED: If you do not have prior learning experience from high school or employment, the GED may be your best pathway to completing high school. Most colleges and employers accept a GED credential as being equivalent to a high school diploma. Each year more than 14,000 Washington residents earn their GED credentials.
