Aberdeen, WA — Grays Harbor College secured a 73–70 NWAC victory Wednesday night at the GHC Gym, holding off a late challenge to earn the conference win against Lower Columbia.
The Chokers built momentum early, taking a 39–34 lead into halftime behind efficient shooting and strong play. Grays Harbor finished the game shooting 45.5 percent from the field and an impressive 50 percent from three-point range, connecting on 12-of-24 attempts from beyond the arc.
Jackson Lusk led the way with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting off the bench, including three three-pointers. D’Andre Bowie added 18 points with four shots from long distance. Nicholas Sanders contributed eight points, while Andrew Vindivich controlled the glass with seven rebounds.
Baaroc Rivers guided the offense with seven assists as the Chokers totaled 18 assists on 25 made field goals. Grays Harbor’s bench provided a significant lift, accounting for 30 points in the contest.
The Chokers maintained their composure down the stretch to secure the three-point victory.
Halftime Recognition: Choker Athletics Lifetime Fans
At halftime, Grays Harbor College honored longtime supporters George and Kathy Leach for more than 50 years of dedication to Choker Athletics.
The Leachs have attended GHC athletic events for over five decades, supporting generations of student-athletes and becoming a staple in the stands. In recognition of their loyalty and commitment, the college presented them with Lifetime Admission to all GHC athletic events and the Lifetime Choker Fan Award.
The presentation at center court was met with a standing ovation from the home crowd, celebrating two individuals who exemplify the spirit and tradition of Choker Athletics.
