Literacy/STEAM Tutor

Summary Job Description

Successful candidate will meet with students in small groups and one-on-one to provide literacy tutoring, academic enrichment and STEAM activities.

Typical Duties

  • Supervising and leading student activities
  • Homework/academic support
  • Assisting with snacks and supper

Minimum Qualifications

  • Employment in this position requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Applicants must have completed or placed in English 095 or higher
  • Applicants must have completed or placed in Math 093 or higher

**Applicants must pass a Washington State Patrol background check. **

HOURS – Monday – Thursday

  • Elementary Schools
    • Stevens Elementary Program – 3:25 – 5:25 PM
    • Robert Gray Elementary Program – 3:10 – 5:10 PM
    • AJ West Elementary – 3:00 – 5:00 PM
    • Central Park Elementary – 3:30 – 5:30 PM
    • McDermoth Elementary – 3:10 – 5:10 PM
  • High Schools
    • Miller Junior High Program – 2:45 – 5:15 PM

Eligibility Criteria

  • Enrolled in 6 credits or more
  • Must be meeting Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (FA SAP)
  • Must have their eligibility determined for federal/state financial aid and be awarded in ctcLink
  • Have unmet need in their financial aid cost of attendance – $2500 maximum per quarter (generally for students attending full time)
