Managing daily operations, including restocking shelves, tracking inventory, assisting students with food selection, weekly food prep, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. Typical Duties
- Operations & Inventory: Overseeing daily pantry operations, including ordering, receiving, preparation and stocking food items, managing inventory tracking systems.
- Inventory Monitoring: Track pantry inventory levels regularly, identify low-stock items, and coordinate with the Food Pantry Manager to restock as needed.
- Weekly Food Deliveries & Logistics: Pick up weekly deliveries such as bread and other needed items, complete necessary purchases, and deliver items to the college to restock Student Life snack cabinets, ensuring timely placement and proper storage of items.
- Student Support: Assisting students with food selection, ensuring confidential and respectful service, and connecting students with other campus resources.
- Pantry Maintenance: Cleaning, organizing, and sanitizing the pantry space, shelves, and refrigeration units.
- Food Safety & Expiration Management: Monitor all pantry items for expiration dates and ensure expired or unsafe food is removed in accordance with food safety standards.
- Donation Management: Coordinating food drives, picking up donations, and building relationships with local food banks or donors.
- Administration & Outreach: Managing the pantry email account, tracking user data, and creating marketing materials (flyers, social media) to raise awareness.
