Academic Advising

An advisor helps students select courses appropriate to their career goals and provides answers to academic questions. New students meet with an entry advisor as part of the enrollment process. Students are then given a designated academic advisor who works with them for future quarters.

Our Student Support Center advises students on matters such as college transfer information, career exploration, student success, and more. Other campus offices such as the TRIO program and the WorkFirst program also advise on academic matters.

Advising and Registration

Advising can begin anytime after the quarterly schedule is posted online for the coming quarter. Your advisor can provide you with exact dates that appointments can be made, and if you are a student with less than 23 credits, your advisor can also provide you with your registration PIN.

Registration opens first to students who have completed 24 or more credits.  A few days after registration for students with 24 or more credits begins registration opens to students with 23 or fewer credits. Students who have a completed academic plan can register at the earlier date regardless of the number of credits.

New students are advised and registered for classes through our Entry Advising Process.
