DESCRIPTION: The Hazardous Materials Endorsement course provides instruction for any driver seeking to obtain, renew and transfer a hazardous materials endorsement on a state-issued commercial driver’s license. Class follows the hazardous material endorsement training curriculum defined in C.F.R. Appendix E to Part 380. Includes a section on "Truckers Against Trafficking." Students must complete all portions of the training within one year of completing the first portion and pass all exams to receive their endorsement.

*OPTIONAL* BOOK: Hazmat Transportation: Driver Training - Driver Workbook by J.J. Keller, $6.49

REQUIREMENTS: Must hold a valid WA State Commercial Learners Permit or WA State Driver's License with a Class A, B, or C endorsement. Must be 18 years of age. Must have a valid email address.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS: This class will be delivered via Zoom. Students must have computer access with sound and microphone and provide a valid email to participate in the class. Materials, including the test, are administered via Microsoft Office or Google Docs. Registration and payment must be completed in advance, via Eventbrite. Once registered, class materials and the Zoom link will be emailed to each participant. A unique, valid email address is required for each participant at the time of registration. This is only a 2 day class (16 class hours). Both days are 8am-5pm, with a lunch break, and testing is on the second day. Please select class date when registering.

Once the test is completed and scored, passing students will receive their certification. A valid WA State Driver's license with Class A, B, or C endorsement or Permit Number will need to be provided to receive the Hazardous Materials Endorsement.

There is limited funding available for financial assistance for those that qualify. Please call 360-538-4058 for more information before registering. Payment must be made in full at the time of registration. The class is non-refundable. Registration ends at 4:00 pm on the Thursday before class.

Please note that this class needs at least 7 students to run. All fees will be reimbursed to original payment method if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment.
