Course Number:
MATH 098
Course Credits:
5.00
Course Description:
MATH 098 builds on the Essentials of Intermediate Algebra learned in MATH 097. The more technical skills learned in MATH 098 are important for the success in Precalculus (MATH& 141) and Finite Math (MATH 111). Topics covered include: solving equations by factoring; simplifying and solving rational expressions and equations; simplifying and solving exponential and radical expressions and equations; using function notation; anlysis of quadratic functions; and review of linear functions. Applications are drawn from the sciences, finance, business, and the social sciences. MATH 098 serves as a prerequisite to MATH 111 and MATH& 141. 5 lecture hours.
