Athletics Spring Seasons

The spring sports seasons are winding down. Our baseball team has 4 double headers left. This weekend they are facing the Centralia Trailblazers. We need to beat Centralia 3 out of 4 games this weekend to put ourselves in position for a playoff spot. There is another week left of the season but this is a crucial series. The games were originally scheduled for Saturday (tomorrow) at Olympic Stadium. Those games have been moved to today with a 3pm start time. The last chance to catch the baseball team at home will be next Saturday as they host the Pierce Raiders. Start time for that doubleheader is 1:00 pm.

Our Softball team  is on the road to Salem Oregon to face the Chemeketa Storm. Last time the two teams played they split the doubleheader. Tuesday May 8th they head back to Oregon to play the Mt. Hood Saints. Softball closes out their season next Friday at home against the Lower Columbia Red Devils. Start time for that doubleheader is 3:00 pm.

For the Grays Harbor College Golf team (Men / Women), There are 2 events left. Next weekend they are heading to Coos Bay, Oregon to play a league match at Bandon Dunes. Then, May 20-21 they will playing in the NWAC Championship Tourney at the Apple Tree Course in Yakima.

I want to invite everyone out to the Bishop Center on Tuesday May 22. We will be hosting the 3rd Annual Charlie Awards. This is a formal dressed encouraged event that we present each of the team’s individual awards, and also reveal the winners of our Male and Female Athletes of the Year, our Scholar Athlete of the Year, our Community Service Award winner and also our Fan of the Year Award. There will be photo opportunities available. Come out as we roll out the “blue carpet” for a fun and entertaining night. There is no charge for this event. It would be great to see a big crowd as we celebrate another year of GHC Athletics.
