GHC’s Annual Small Schools Band Festival is Coming up on 11/20!

On Thursday, November 20th at the Bishop Center for Performing Arts, Grays Harbor College will host the annual Small Schools Band Festival. The all-day event celebrates the talent of student musicians from small schools around the region.

Performance Schedule

  • 9:10 AM – Tenino High School (Director: Andrew Bowerly)
  • 9:50 AM – Ocosta Jr./Sr. High School (Director: Mara McRae)
  • 10:30 AM – Montesano High School (Director: Maria Hoffman)
  • 11:10 AM – Willapa Valley High School (Director: Cooper Schlegel)
  • 1:00 PM – Wishkah Valley High School (Director: Kyle Housden)
  • 1:40 PM – North Beach High School (Director: Jeff Simmons)
  • 2:20 PM – South Bend High School (Director: Thomas Sanborn)

After their performance, each band will have the opportunity to receive constructive feedback and learn from clinicians who are professional musicians. The 2025 clinicians are: Ben McDonald – Tumwater Schools, Jennifer Palmer – Griffin Schools, and Ingrid Layton – Fife Schools.

The Small Schools Band Festival is entirely organized by volunteers, including GHC Director of Music Bill Dyer, GHC Staff, and GHC Music students. The free, non-competitive event is sponsored by the Grays Harbor College Foundation.
