Hughes Tools Scholarship

Established in 2004 by Lawrence “Pat” Hughes and his late wife, Mary Ellen, the Hughes Tool Scholarship helps GHC Industrial Technology, Medical Assisting and Nursing students purchase tools required for their particular field of study. The Hughes believes students learning valuable job skills need to start with quality tools that can later be utilized when entering the workforce.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a 1st year student in automotive, carpentry, CDL, diesel, medical assisting, nursing or welding.  2nd year students are eligible to apply if they did not receive a Hughes Tool Scholarship in their 1st year.
  • Maintain a “C” or higher in the fall quarter, and for medical assisting and nursing, a “B-“ or higher is required.
  • If a student enrolls in a program after the scholarship cycle has closed, the student may apply for the next scholarship cycle that will open in the following academic year if they continue to meet the criteria listed above.
