Job Description

This position will provide clerical and front-desk support to the Mental Health, Testing, Career/Transfer, Entry Advising, and Disability Services Department. This role assists staff in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for students seeking academic, personal, and disability-related support. Responsibilities include greeting students, scheduling appointments, maintaining confidential files, distributing resources, and supporting departmental outreach efforts. This position is ideal for students interested in human services, education, or administrative support roles.

Typical Duties

  • Greet and direct students, faculty, staff and visitors in a professional, friendly manner
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing calendars for advisors and counselors
  • Perform general office tasks, including filing, data entry, and making copies
  • Use of Word, Excel and other college programs to create/update documents and files
  • Help maintain organized records while upholding confidentiality standards
  • Support the preparation and distribution of departmental communications and materials
  • Assist during workshops, orientations, or accessibility accommodations as needed

Employee Qualifications 

  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be eligible for federal or state work-study program
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
  • Must exercise maturity in dealing with peers and confidential information
  • Able to work independently and follow directions
  • Reliable

Eligibility Criteria

  • Enrolled in 6 Credits or More
  • Must be Meeting Standard Academic Progress (SAP)
  • Federal/State Financial Aid processed and awarded in ctcLink
  • Have room in unmet Federal/Cost of Attendance Need money - $2500 Maximum per quarter
