Fitness Center Attendant - Athletics

Summary Job Description

This position helps to monitor the fitness lab, clean equipment as necessary, clean the basketball courts, wash & fold laundry associated with fitness lab users and/or sports teams. Provide a friendly and welcoming fitness center environment. This position will complete other assigned jobs that support this department.

Typical Duties

• Ensure that the fitness center is clean and ready for use during each shift.
• Office reception, includes greeting & assisting students, faculty, staff and general public
• Ensure that any laundry gets washed, folded and properly put away.
• Ensure lights and equipment are turned on for the morning shift and off during the evening shift.
• Make copies, make files, fax, scan, file documents, empty shredder, prepare mailings
• Maintain postings on information board in gym and AD office
• Help ensure fitness center users are familiar with gym equipment

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work independently and follow directions
• Reliable
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must exercise maturity in dealing with peers and confidential information
• Must understand gym equipment and how they are used
• Must understand proper cleaning techniques of gym equipment and proper PPE placement when using cleaning supplies.
• Must understand proper cleaning techniques for washing gym towels and sport uniforms.
